THE SPECIAL SYMBOL OF OM IN VISHISTA-ADVAITA VEDANTA

This is the version of the Om Symbol endorsed by Vishista-advaita Vedanta. The top part of the number 3 is the sattvic guna consciousness component; the bottom part of the number 3 is the tamasic guna consciousness component and the attachment on the right is the rajasic guna consciousness component. The curve with the dot over these three guna triads of Consciousness is Supreme God Sri Krishna that the rajasic mahataman strives to access by operating the mind as atman at the interface of the mind and the Supermind. The four components are Om or Brahman that is attained as in Brahmavid Brahmaiva Bhavati (Who that knows Brahma verily becomes Brahma.

The position of the rajasic guna is symbolic in that only rajasic guna consciousness and resulting karma attains the Ultimate Reality of God above the person.

The outer circle containing Om is the the sphere of Reality that rolls forwards each moment with time. The colour of the entire conception is significant in denoting spirituality.
